AZAHAR

AZAHAR
EAU DE PARFUM
The name of this gorgeous moreish perfume is Arabic for orange tree, and Azahar delivers a thirst-quenching rush of citrus over a base of marshmallow soft vanilla. It smells silvered, suggesting Moroccan riads with their enclosed courtyards and gardens, fountains delicately flowing in the fragrant air, contrasting with street heat and arid air.
Azahar is a silken scent, walking a delicate line between lush orange and vanillic comfort. There is a culinary tradition in North African and Mediterranean cuisine of adding orange flower water to both sweet and savoury dishes. Powdered sugar is used too, adding a rich and unexpected facet. Salads, pastries, tagines can all be given a twist with floral waters. Azahar dips into this tradition by combining heady orange blossom, petit-grain and tangerine served over a base of pillowy vanilla, whose orchid origins seem to be underlined by the orange blossom and zesty citrus. The mix of piquant carnality and solar yearning make for memorable wearing.
Using combinations of citrus notes, like the sweeter tangerine and pithy green of petit-grain with the indolic orange will ease out the longevity and embedding it in a marshmallow soft vanilla creates a languorous and exalted epilogue. Azahar is beautiful to wear, a beautifully crafted citric floral that can be worn from day into delicious night.
