Belle Âme meaning Beautiful Soul, is a tapestry of hushed iris and orris exalted with a delicious cocoa note and fumed muskily with frankincense, woods, and an elegant use of Venezuelan tonka resin.

Les Abstraits owner Eugen Nizic and Master Perfumer Antoine Lie have collaborated on all three perfumes in the collection, creating a trio of difference and striking beauty reflecting Eugen’s desire to filter the vintage glory days of classical perfumery through Lie’s avant-garde perfumed mechanics and the fascination with pushing at boundaries.

Belle Âme is one of Lie’s finest compositions, a tapestry of finest quality orris washed through with a mournful frankincense note. Tonka bean resin and a deliciously powdered chocolate dust are perfectly balanced by steam distillation of blue ginger rhizomes that illuminate the smudged boudoir melancholy with a spicy, aqueous lemon vibe.

Antoine has always understood the alchemy of flattering key notes without sacrificing nuance and atmosphere. Belle Âme is a beautiful and nuanced composition, its elegant transformation from the macaroon-tinted greenery of the start to the deshabillé allusion of draped boudoirs that lingers like a memory of lost love.
