SAINTE CELLIER

Danner & Flemming craft millésime perfumes built entirely around their own Bavarian-grown iris, cultivated by hand over three years and extracted using a patented process. Each fragrance showcases one of their exclusive iris varieties, Iris pallida, Iris germanica or the exceptionally rare Iris germanica Danner, used in concentrations 25 - 40 times higher than traditional perfumery. Because production depends on the annual harvest, every release is naturally limited, numbered and shaped by the terroir of the season.

Working in close collaboration with master perfumer Antoine Lie and sourcing additional raw materials from the renowned L’Atelier Français des Matières, Danner & Flemming create perfumes with extraordinary depth, purity and character. Each scent captures iris in a new dimension, from sparkling elegance to creamy sensuality to spiced complexity, offering a collection defined by craftsmanship, rarity and elegance.

FAQ

What is Danner & Flemming and what makes the brand unique?

Danner & Flemming is a German fragrance house dedicated to iris in its most concentrated and expressive form. Based in Bavaria, the brand cultivates its own iris and creates millésime perfumes in exceptionally high concentrations, far exceeding standard usage in perfumery.

What sets Danner & Flemming apart is this complete control of the material, from cultivation through to extraction and composition, resulting in fragrances defined by depth, texture and an exceptional expression of iris.

Are Danner & Flemming fragrances made in limited editions?

Yes. Danner & Flemming perfumes are produced as limited millésime editions, with each release determined by the annual iris harvest.

Because iris cultivation is a slow and labour-intensive process, with low yields even after several years of growth, production is inherently restricted. Each fragrance is therefore numbered and unique to its year, making availability naturally limited.

How are the iris materials sourced and processed?

Danner & Flemming cultivates its iris in Bavaria, where the plants are grown over several years before harvest. The process is highly manual and time-intensive, with each stage, from cultivation to extraction, carried out with precision and care.

The resulting iris materials are then processed using proprietary techniques to produce extracts of exceptional concentration and clarity, forming the core of each fragrance.

Who is the perfumer behind the Danner & Flemming collection?

The collection is composed by master perfumer Antoine Lie, one of the most distinctive and unconventional figures in contemporary perfumery.

Known for his avant-garde approach and deep understanding of raw materials, Antoine has translated the complexity and character of Danner & Flemming’s iris into a series of highly expressive, material-driven compositions.

What scent profiles can I expect from Danner & Flemming perfumes?

Danner & Flemming fragrances are defined by iris in high concentration, but each composition explores a different facet of the material.

You can expect:

• soft, powdery and creamy iris with nutty and woody undertones
• luminous, floral-green compositions with a refined, sparkling quality
• richer, more complex structures where iris interacts with spice, resin and fruit

Across the collection, the emphasis is on texture, evolution and depth, rather than overt sweetness or immediate impact.

Are these perfumes suitable for everyday wear or special occasions?

Danner & Flemming fragrances sit comfortably between everyday wear and more considered occasions.

While the compositions are refined and distinctive, they are not overwhelming, making them suitable for regular use. At the same time, their depth and complexity give them a presence that feels deliberate and considered when worn more intentionally.

Can I sample Danner & Flemming fragrances before purchasing a full bottle?

Due to the limited nature of the collection and the way these perfumes are produced, samples are not available.

Each fragrance is created in small, harvest-defined quantities, and the focus remains on the finished bottles rather than a broader sampling programme.

How quickly will I receive my perfume after placing an order?

Orders are prepared by hand, and dispatch usually takes between three and five working days depending on what the order contains. Samples are hand-poured in small batches, which can take additional time.

Within the UK, orders are sent with Royal Mail using tracked services. Most parcels travel on the Tracked 48 service, although special arrangements can be made on request and may incur a surcharge.

International orders, including samples, are shipped with FedEx. Delivery times vary depending on destination and customs processing.

Can I return a perfume if I don't like the scent?

Perfume is considered a hygiene-sensitive item, and under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations it cannot be returned once opened. This applies whether the product is wrapped in cellophane, sealed with a sticker, or simply packaged in a way that makes clear it is unused. Once a fragrance has been opened, sprayed or handled beyond inspection, it cannot be resold and is therefore not eligible for return based on personal preference.

If you would like to explore a scent before committing to a full-size bottle, I offer individually hand-poured samples so you can experience how it develops on your own skin.

Unopened perfumes may be eligible for return within the statutory period, and I am always here to help if an order arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect. Please contact me at bb@saintecellier.com for assistance.
