Founded in 2020 by the second-generation perfumer Tianle Feng, Voice From The Sky is an independent Chinese house that turns lived experience into olfactory work. Feng graduated from ISIPCA in 2017, returned to the family business in Tianjin, and began releasing under his own name three years later. 天乐, the brand's Chinese name, is also his.
It is the second Chinese brand ever introduced in Michael Edwards' Fragrances of the World.
The range runs from the solitary to the openly tender. Voice From The Sky is the signature, aldehydes and eucalyptus colliding with Oman frankincense and Hainan oud. Gentle King came from watching a lion wake on the Serengeti, all Sichuan pepper, hay and leather. First Touch, the only eau de toilette here, was made for the perfumer's daughter: yuzu, lily of the valley, milk and honey. Talking To The Moon takes Su Shi's thousand-year-old moon poem and builds it from borneol, osmanthus and castoreum. Let Me Out is its companion piece and its answer, a cocoon of labdanum and fermented wool broken open with white rose. Tough Berry was made for a three-year-old who loves strawberries, and reconstructs a living one from the seeds inward.
