Eau de Parfum
Pistil is one of those perfumes you obsess over, a floral weapon worn with intent to thrill and pierce. It is a powerful scent. All parts of it have a glow and intimacy. You feel you are slipping down inside a tunnel of heady jasmine sambac, a flower that intoxicates and brings you close to the edge of swooning. The use of lavender with its bruised sugar spirit, freshly cut hay and blond tobacco tempers the indoles flooding off the jasmine.
Costus Oliffac adds an unexpected dirtiness to proceedings. It is often tricky to pinpoint exactly where it is in formulations but the smell and texture of it are undeniable. It is a skin scent, one that carries a charge of the unwashed, post-coital flesh, scalp, and baby skin. Some might suggest flower porn, but costus, used with delicacy, adds a weaponised intimacy for the wearer’s skin and the flower within.
