Eau de Toilette
The initial spray of Épices is startling, petrolic oiliness dripping from white petals. Indoles, ivory sheets, and stems rendered incendiary.
Épices deftly uses its palette of haute materials. Crushed sweet green coriander allied with flakes of creamy cedar, falling like petals of pencil shavings. Clearwood is a recent manifestation of patchouli; a deliciously cool material that smells chilled and glassy but radiates the temperament of earthy, choco-mint, and decaying soil. Lavender, patchouli, cedar, and mossy spices are the stalwarts of fougère perfumes. They defined the scent of a wealthy gentleman.
Épices is a gorgeous echo of times past, distinctively modern but carefully presenting a perfume packed with robust characterisation. The drydown is more metallic, and humid. A perfect end to a fascinating perfume.
