Eau de Parfum
Priscus is a glorious boozy stone-fruit wonder, ripe with plum, blossom and liqueur.
The opening is beautifully detailed: sun-warmed plums with burgundy skins, red-green flesh beneath, juice staining the fingers. The realism of the fruit is given an unexpected gloss, a polished, almost lacquered sheen that keeps the composition from becoming purely edible. Soon, the fruit begins to soften into compote: plums collapsing into pulp, simmered with cinnamon bark and an imagined dash of something darker and headier.
In Japan, plum wine is known as umeshu, made by macerating tart ume plums in alcohol. Though often called a wine, it is technically closer to a liqueur, with facets of ripening plum, apricot and peach. Some versions macerate the whole ume fruit, allowing the pit to impart a faint bitter almond note.
That sense of detail runs through Priscus. Plum blossom, plum wine and ripe plum spiral together, deepened by heliotrope with its cherry-pie and amandine softness. Osmanthus adds a quiet tea-like fruitiness, while immortelle brings its warm, shrubby, golden xanthous glow. The result is fermented, plush and gently strange: a perfume that wears dreamily, shifting stage by stage as it warms and blooms on skin.
