Rubini's long-standing collaborator, perfumer Cristiano Canali, builds that whole cinematic moment: Caribbean fruit and salt-skin up top, long pepper and a curl of rum, then tobacco absolute and nautical woods pulling down into marine depths. Briny, warm, contemplative. Salt and smoke and sun on a body that's just been somewhere far below.
Every Rubini fragrance is composed around unique accords developed between Andrea Bissoli Rubini and Canali just for that perfume. In L'Eau Très Mer, those signatures run top to base: a salty skin accord in the opening, a diving suit accord at the heart (latex lovers, this one's for you) and nautical woods and marine depths anchoring the drydown. None of them exist anywhere else. They were built for this bottle.
