A dense, balsamic perfume ablaze with sacred resins, alpine woods and green vanilla, Oriental Velours is a slow, sensuous descent into shadows lit by firelight. It begins with a bracing sting of Alpine spruce, icy, aromatic, almost metallic, before succumbing to the warm flood of Somalian myrrh. Thick, honeyed and skin-bound, the myrrh creates a kind of sacred veil over the composition.
Through that veil slips jasmine, feral and intimate, its Grand Cru Indian alcoolat lending breath and bloom to the otherwise smouldering air. Beneath it all, Grand Cru Haitian vetiver thrums with earthen smoke, while green vanilla from Madagascar, herbaceous, molasses-rich, trickles through like a velveted thread.
A perfume of devotion, seduction, and fire-drenched stillness.
