Olivia Bransbourg’s Sous Le Manteau perfumes have a bold aesthetic; formed by perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer. The name Odisiaque No.6 the is a compounding of opiat aphrodisiaque, a perfect description of its mood.
Sous Le Manteau perfumes transfigure skin and tremble with dichotomy. Odisiaque No.6 is no exception. Pungent ginger and velveteen geranium open the scent illuminated with sunlit bergamot. Then a mellow bordello odour of cascarilla, a dried bark with a scent profile of dry terpenic pimento and leathered incense. Elemi resin and maté expand the cascarilla, illuminating the piquant Vermouth and Campari aspects of the bark.
The base notes are beautifully supportive, plush tonka, tobacco, emerald vetiver and a hay absolute exuding vanillic hush. Within this languid anchoring is a persistent notion of Odisiaque No.6 diffusing in a sculpture workshop. Plaster and wax maquettes litter the room, gathering marble dust. There are phantoms. The air is glutted with this glorious, musky perfume.
Such mystery is rare in perfumery.
