Oh my, Cutie Pie. What a delicious concoction you are. A sophisticated grown up gourmand, combining hyper-realism and whimsical patisserie cravings.
Cutie Pie is the latest collaboration between Brooke Belledon, the creative force behind Sainte Cellier and Ukrainian perfumer Nata Dyshliuk of Sentire Perfumes. Each new launch from these two olfactory sensualists has so far been innovative, fascinating and very beautiful. Each perfume has reflected a variety of perfume tropes but always with an eye or nose on the unique and left-field. To be surprised by perfumes in today’s over-saturated market is quite an achievement.
The list of ‘notes’ or accords and conjured tastes is mouthwatering and perfectly matched to the fabulous creation of moreish comfort in Cutie Pie. Rum, lemon soufflé, citrus zest, caramel, lemon chiffon, whipped cream, vanilla, sandalwood and buttery shortbread.
The main inspiration is Lemon Chiffon, an eternally cult dessert where butter is replaced with oils, creating a much lighter, unctuous dish that melts in the mouth. It is a delicious, comforting perfume, not overtly sweet, the warmth of skin and the way our minds interpret the dessert vibes suggesting nostalgic indulgence and safety. The hit of perfect lemon dessert, billowing soufflé cream, caramelised vanilla and the buttery crumble of moreish shortbread makes for sophisticated cravings.
