THE SUN CARD
THE SUN CARD
Eau de Parfum
As the name of this delightful fragrance suggests, it is inspired by the 19th Major Arcana card in traditional tarot decks. A card of optimism and fulfilment, the promise of hope after dark nights. The most frequent Sun Card symbolism is a baby riding a white horse under a large sun, carrying a red banner flag that often resembles a flame.
It is very much a sunny scent, joyous and warm, redolent with giddy florals, amber and subtle citrus notes. First impressions are lactones and powder from sweet orange and the boudoir amandine moreishness of heliotrope. This is a perfume of glimpses, yes there is an overall floral mood, but it has been created in a way that allows materials to peek-a-boo effects as The Sun Card settles on skin.
There is a marbled feel to the way ingredients have been assembled. Yellow oils swirled into water and then lifted onto card. An amber base is deceptively complex, laying down a honeyed warmth that flows upwards to the light. This perfume of sunlit aspect smells of bright joy, a perfume to wear after the descent of night and subsequent banishment by light, the orb of sun carried across the sky by Osiris in his golden chariot.
