Cultural highlights from the Voyages Imaginaires Perfumers & Founders...
Currently reading?
Isabelle: Mesopotamia by Olivier Guez and Sève et Pensée by Giuseppe Penone.
Camille: Re-reading The Three Musketeers, which I read it when I was 16, because I’d like to read the next chapter, Twenty Years After.
It's interesting to have another point of view 35 years later when reading it. I also enjoy being plunged back into the old Paris atmosphere.
Latest film recommendation?
Isabelle: Monty Python's Life of Brian.
Camille: One Life, a biographical movie about Nicholas Winton, who helped save 669 children from deportation in Czechoslovakia. Didn’t expect to be moved like that.
The last five songs you listened to?
Isabelle:
Cortez the Killer, Neil Young
Le roi Soleil, Miel de Montagne (a friend of mine)
Idjidja, Alpha Blondy
Red Right Hand, Nick Cave
Alexandra Leaving, Leonard Cohen
Camille:
God Knows I’m Good, David Bowie
Hell’s Kitchen, Alicia Keys' Broadway’s musical album
New Order T-Shirt, The National
He Mele No Lilo, Lilo & Stitch (Makes me think of Polynesia that I love so much, and the road to holidays with my - grown-up! - daughters.)
Harlem Shuffle, Bob & Earl
Get Down, Nas
Working on anything exciting?
Isabelle: A collaboration with my friend, artist Sheila Concari, for a performance in fall.
Camille: Always working on exciting things! The scent is the most important part of course, but I enjoy working on all the aspects of the creation - pictures, packaging, etc.
I'm also working on sorting thousands and thousands of photographs that my Dad and I took over the years by chronological order. It's a huge job but very moving.
Smell you're loving most at the moment?
Isabelle: Linden blossom blooming
Camille: A candle that Isabelle created for our friend Sheila Concari, based on her creation Lupus, Homini, Serpens.
The candle is very intriguing. It smells a little bit like the snake - a very sophisticated one of course - white flowers, leather and earth.
