In Ana Mendieta’s Silueta series, we witness not herself but space where she once was and is no longer. In the imagery, what’s left is a trace of where she once was, but she’s disappeared.

Silueta is a perfume about absence, an impressionistic interpretation in scent of the means by which Ana Mendieta’s Silueta Series of super 8 films and portraits document sites within nature of her own, private rituals of embedding herself into the landscape—places where her body was once but is no longer.

Silueta was released without a published list of notes or materials used in its composition.
