Their solar ubiquity during the Mexican Dia de al Muertos celebrations is an indication of their important symbolism (flowers as golden as sun ) and the scent of flowers and stems, strong enough to entice and guide the souls of the dead. Houses, doorways, graves, cemetery paths and family altars are decorated riotously with tagetes and the air is saturated with a musky green miasma.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn Songe de Tagete, the striking perfume of the plant is enhanced by the smoky capsicum odour of galbanum resin and bitter-jade blackcurrant leaf.
